Healthcare Experience

As we move to a more holistic application, an applicant’s healthcare experience will strengthen their BSN application.  However if an applicant does not have healthcare experience this does not, in itself, disqualify them.  

Having healthcare experience is to the applicant’s benefit. Some examples of healthcare experience include: CNA, LVN, PCT, and/or additional volunteer or work in the healthcare field. 

Additionally, healthcare experience opportunities may be available through Texas State University’s Pre-Nursing Living Learning Community and the Pre-Nursing Student Organization.
